I am a journalist, lecturer and dad. I worked in national newspapers before leaving to pursue a “portfolio career” a while back. The items in my “portfolio” are: being a stay-at-home dad to my daughter Grace, an annoying husband to my wife Fran, a freelance journalist and writer and a lecturer in the School of Communications at Dublin City University. Newsflash: also recently PhD researcher, also at DCU.
I am captain of a dysfunctional cricket team (the Herald Taverners XI), a member of the Green Party of Ireland, a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club and a former member of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London. I am 5’11” tall, but my wife says I’m more 5’9″.
